How to cancel Fitbit Premium

This one cancels from your account page in a couple of minutes, with nobody to talk to.

The catch

The subscription moved and a lot of people are looking for it in the old place. Fitbit Premium is now Google Health Premium, managed inside the Google account rather than on fitbit.com, so the website many subscribers still think of as home has no cancel control on it any more. Separately, a Premium period that arrived free with a device or a phone converts to a paid subscription on its own, and that conversion is where most unexpected charges come from.

  1. Open the Fitbit or Google Health app and tap your profile picture
  2. Tap Settings, then Fitbit Premium or Google Health Premium
  3. Tap Cancel membership and confirm
  4. If you subscribed on the Google Store, cancel at store.google.com/subscriptions

After you cancel Fitbit Premium

Premium features switch off at the end of the paid period and the app keeps working without them. Steps, heart rate, exercise logging, basic sleep tracking and your history all remain, because those are the free tier rather than the subscription.

What goes is the analysis layer: the readiness and stress scores, the detailed sleep breakdowns, the wellness report and the guided content library. The underlying data those were computed from stays in your account, so resubscribing later restores the insights rather than starting you from nothing.

Nothing is deleted by cancelling. This is the reassuring case among subscriptions, and worth knowing before you hesitate over it: your years of tracking are not held hostage by the subscription.

Fitbit Premium is now Google Health Premium and is managed through your Google account, not on the fitbit.com website. If you subscribed inside the iOS app it is Apple billed via StoreKit and must be cancelled in Apple Account subscriptions.

Do I lose my Fitbit data if I cancel Premium?
No. Activity, sleep and heart rate history all stay in your account and the app continues to record them. Only the paid analysis layer stops, and the data behind it is untouched.
Why can I not cancel on fitbit.com?
Because the subscription is now Google Health Premium and lives in the Google account rather than on the Fitbit website. Manage it from the app or from your Google account subscriptions instead.
