How to cancel Anytime Fitness (NL)

This one wants an email, and the clock starts when it lands rather than when you send it. A click is not enough. They want it in writing, and a letter that arrives late counts as the following month. There is a committed term. Leaving inside it usually means paying the rest of it anyway.

1. 1Check your own membership agreement first for your minimum contract term and end date, because each club sets its own conditions

Cancelling on the day the charge lands is already too late here. Work backwards from your renewal date.

Anytime Fitness NL clubs are independently operated, so cancellation is always handled directly by your home club via written notice (schriftelijke kennisgeving), submitted digitally, through the email a club form, or with the opzegformulier at the club location. Per the algemene voorwaarden the opzegtermijn is one 4 week period, and after a silent renewal or late cancellation the membership ends at the end of the following 4 week period. Memberships longer than 12 months that are cancelled after 12 months but before the original end date may be recalculated at a higher rate. Medical cancellations are allowed with at least one 4 week period notice. This is a direct (non Apple) biller; only if a membership were sold as an App Store in app purchase would it instead be Apple billed and cancelled through Apple. Both the cancel form (email-club) and FAQ (veelgestelde-vragen) pages returned HTTP 200.
