  2. Choose the account icon at the top of the page
  3. Choose Settings
  4. Scroll to Subscriptions and choose Manage

Apple TV+ runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and the subscription page shows the exact renewal date it will stop at. Cancelling on day one of a month gets you the same end date as cancelling on day twenty nine, so there is nothing to gain by rushing.

Two things catch people out. The first is a free year of Apple TV+ included with a new iPhone, iPad or Mac. That offer converts to a paid subscription automatically at the end of the year, and cancelling it immediately after redeeming still leaves you the full free period, which makes it the rare cancellation worth doing the day you get it. The second is Apple One: if your Apple TV+ arrives through that bundle, there is no separate Apple TV+ subscription to cancel and you have to change or cancel the bundle itself.

Downloads stop playing at the end of the period. Your watch history and Up Next list stay on the Apple account, so resubscribing later picks up where you stopped rather than starting fresh.

Apple TV+ is billed by Apple rather than by Apple TV+ directly. That means cancelling inside the app does nothing at all. Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel it there. The same applies on a Mac under System Settings.

Yes, and it costs you nothing. Cancelling a redeemed free trial keeps access for the full free period and simply stops the automatic conversion to a paid subscription at the end. It is the one cancellation worth doing the day you sign up.
Why can I not find Apple TV+ in my subscriptions?
Usually because it is part of Apple One rather than a subscription of its own. In that case there is nothing separate to cancel, and you have to downgrade or cancel the Apple One bundle, which also covers Music, iCloud+ and Arcade.
